A young adibasi girl in India was forcefully stripped, molested, to walk naked for almost 8 kilometer and blackmailed through MMS, being beaten and groped by group of hundreds of mocking men along the way, as punishment for falling in love with a boy who belong from another community.

Some of Indian Media and news paper reports said that the “some men recorded videos on mobile phones as the seventeen-year-old tribal (Adivasi) girl spread over a period of time the length of to the sound of beating drums.

The stripped, molested, to walk naked for almost 8 kilometre and blackmailed through MMS incident occurred in month of April 2010, but the adibasi (tribal area) girl was too distressed to tell police at the same time as the tribal area village leaders kept silent.

Police acted against village leaders after being made aware of the incident’s recorded video with sound being sent around in a MMS clip dubbed named as “Adibasi girl”.

Birbhum district of West Bengal police officers arrested five men on Monday 9th August 2010 in this forcefully stripped, molested and naked shameful walk case.

Indian Media and news paper reports described the stripped, molested and naked shameful walk video as horrendous, noting how the girl had “a shocked, departed look on her face as she staggers along covered in dust muck tracks”.

The news article in Indian Media and news paper reports described how she tried to protect her humility but was grabbed by hundreds on men who stripped and molested her, was laughing, “as the drums beat up a emotion”.

Two More Tribal Women Forced to Walk Naked in India

Two more tribal women have been stripped and forced to parade naked in front of large crowds in the Indian state of West Bengal, police say.
The incidents were in the same area - the Birbhum district - where a similar case took place four months ago.
Locals say that the women were being punished for "having close relations" with men from other communities.
Birbhum police spokesman Humayun Kabir told the BBC that the two women in the latest incidents had filed cases.
Superintendent Kabir said that reports about one of them committing suicide could not be confirmed. 'Extreme punishment'
"I have no reports that this is the case," he said, "although I know such reports are circulating. The police are investigating."
Superintendent Kabir said the two women were from Jetia village and worked in a stone quarry.
"Local tribespeople did not like these women enjoying close relations with men from other communities," he said. .
He said that they were subjected to this this "extreme punishment of public stripping" after they were found pillion riding with them on motor-bikes.
All three women belong to the Santhal tribe.
The Women's Commission in West Bengal announced an inquiry into the first incident after it was widely reported in the media.
The main focus of the inquiry will be to find out why the woman's family maintained ''such a long silence" and how the local administration "remained oblivious of such a shocking incident", Commission Chairperson Malini Bhattacharya said.
But she could not be reached for comment on the two recent cases that have now surfaced.
Officials say all three women were forced to walk long distances without their clothes - in the first case, the woman was also filmed.
They say that the "hapless women" were molested and jeered by large crowds as they walked.
A similar thing happened to another woman three years ago in the neighbouring state of Assam.

The year 2007 had not been a very good one for the adivasis in Assam..

The  oldest  tribe of  India had been  engaged in  fighting for  their rights in the  state  of  Assam.
On 25th of November, the adivasi men and women had decided to march ahead with their agenda and meet the chief minister of Assam in Guwahati. The oldest tribe of India numbered around 3,000, unarmed began walking from the outskirts of Guwahati to the chief minister’s office.
It was a peaceful walk on the streets of Guwahati.
They felt deprived of the basic right which was very much theirs.
The sufferings of all those years had boiled their hearts with anger, and suddenly the adivasi crowds went berserk. They began throwing stones on the pavement, and also to the shops that lie on either side of the street. The window panes of few shops crumbled as stones flew everywhere around.
The local residents who kept quiet till then, decided to act. The fight between the adivasis and the locals began, a fierce battle ensued, and there were adivasi women who scampered to find a shelter.
The locals were outnumbered. The fighting turned violent as the local resident took arms and jumped on the crowds. The women were stranded helplessly at the back.
Three men among the locals came forward and caught a beautiful adivasi woman from the group in a broad daylight just before noon, caught her hair, forcibly took her aside and began to tear her cloths from her body. She struggled to get away from the clutches of those men. There were many who watched the girl struggle and shout helplessly, but nobody came forward to help her out.

The men undressed her till she was completely naked. It was a horrible sight to witness an act of immorality and incivility in a civilized city of Guwahati. The dignity of woman was in total ruins. The girl who was 19 years of age fled from the scene, naked, there were people who were busy taking pictures of her with their cell phones, but none helped her out.
The girl was rescued later by a gentleman who gave her a shawl to cover herself.
The girl now lives with her parents in a small town in Assam. The government had tried to compensate her with a large sum but she refused politely. She says” I want my tribe to get the basic rights which we should get. I won’t take the money”.
When she looks back, she regrets what happened to her. After completing her high school exams, she decided to join the fellow tribesmen and women for a cause. Never even in her wildest dream did she imagine to run across a situation which eventually changed her life.
She had a very painful first year after that terrible incident, but she slowly came to terms with the flow her life.
She says that she now wants to work for the people. She joined a social group to look after the needs of her people.
Watching her intensity to work closely with the people, a political group offered her to join the party, as she readily accepted the invitation and now look forward to work for the political party in the grass root levels
Though, the culprits were caught and landed in jail, no action would be enough to compensate what happened to her. It’s the determination of that brave girl which teaches us to face life with our heads held high, to set aside obstacles and catch the world by the scuff of the neck.

Five women stripped, paraded naked in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Oct 19 (IANS) Five women were stripped and paraded naked in Deoghar district of Jharkhand after being charged of witchcraft, police said  Monday.
Five women, including three widows, were forcibly brought to a field Sunday in Patharghatia village in Deoghar, about 350 km from state capital Ranchi. They were stripped and paraded naked and two of them were forced to eat excreta, police said..

“Sushila Kumahrin, Sagiran Beebi, Hafijan Beebi, Sujan Beebi and Gulnar Beebi were tortured to accept that they were witches and practise black magic. The incident took place at the instruction of a witch doctor. The witch doctor said that these women were practising black magic and were causing problems in the village,” a police officer told IANS.

The women were rescued when local government officials and police reached the spot. However, the perpetrators managed to escape.

According to reports, hundreds of people witnessed the incident.

“We have lodged an FIR (First Information Report) against 11 people, including six women. We will soon arrest the perpetrators,” the officer added.

Majority of perpetrators were Muslims and four of the five victims belonged to the same community.

In Jharkhand, women are subjected to different forms of torture after being branded witches. There are instances when women have been paraded naked, forced to eat human excreta and even killed.

According to official data, more than 700 people, majority of them women, were killed after being branded witches. The witch doctors manage to escape as people fear black magic if they are named.

Mob Parades Woman Naked in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Watched by fearful children and passersby, a mob of nearly 50 young men beat up a woman and paraded her naked in the heart of capital city Kathmandu with no one daring to protest even as Nepal's political parties said they were writing a new constitution that would empower women and other disadvantaged people.

The unidentified woman, who looked to be in her 30s, was stripped of her red printed salwar-kameez and white dupatta. Then the crowd tore off her undergarments and rained abuse and blows with lathis.

The shocking incident occurred in the Ratna Park area of Kathmandu, one of the busiest spots in the capital where new Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Friday laid down the foundation of a martyrs' memorial.

The area, teeming with public transport and shops, is also close to a main police station. Though the cornered woman repeatedly cried out in fear, asking people to save her, nobody dared to intervene.

The woman could have been a sex worker, who abound the area, or mistaken as one. Though it happened on May 20, it came to public notice only this week with a passerby taking photographs of the scene and sending them to a Nepali blog site, Mysansar.com The blog is now appealing for justice, saying the attack is all the more shocking as it happened in the heart of the capital.

Seorang Gadis Dipaksa Lari Bugil

Gara-gara mencintai seorang pria dari suku lain, seorang gadis remaja berusia 17 tahun dipaksa telanjang dan berlari di tengah-tengah desa di Birbhum, Bengali Barat, India sejauh 8 kilometer sebagai hukuman. Sungguh kejam masyarakat dan tetua adat di daerah tersebut.
